In October 1989, Peter and Sonya Richards of Brampton Ontario, members of Toronto Seventh Day Baptist, moved to Cambridge Ontario with their two children.
The Richards' traveled to Toronto for church most Sabbaths, but found the distance too far.
So in the winter of 1989-1990 they started a Sabbath School in their home, with the children in
the neighborhood joining them. They quickly saw the potential to develop a group that could serve the tri-city area of Cambridge, Kitchener Waterloo, and Guelph, and surrounding area directly
west of Toronto.
They were informed that a small church on Roseview St. in Cambridge was not being used on
Saturday mornings, so with the help of their Pastor, H.H. Condison, they were able to make arrangements to use the church for Sabbath services.
At this time, Pastor Mclean and his family joined the group.
In 2002, due to wheel chair inaccessibility they were no longer able to stay at Roseview.
They were once again meeting at 182 Cranston Ave, Cambridge for two months, but were invited by Pastors Hank & Kathy Kanters of the Cambridge Christian Centre to use their church on
Sabbaths and Wednesdays. There they were able to work closely with the churches in the community for many Outreach Sessions and Times of Refreshing. However due to the sale of that building,
December 2005, they moved their group to Hespeler Community Church, 18 Tannery St. in Cambridge, where they are now located.
God has been gracious to the group and continues to show favor unto them in the community.
